If You Keep Saying “I Need to Lose Weight” Then You’ll Never Be Ready for a Shoot — And Here’s Why

Let’s rip the bandaid off, babe.

If you’re sitting around waiting to “be ready” for a boudoir session, you might be waiting forever.

And “I need to lose weight first” is the one I hear the most…
But let’s be real — that’s just one excuse wearing a cute disguise.
It also shows up as:

  • It’s too expensive.

  • I need to get a tan first.

  • I don’t look like the women you photograph.

  • I’m too shy.

  • I wouldn’t know what to do.

Different words. Same result. You’re not booking something you actually want.

Let’s Go Through These One by One… Because I’m Not Letting You Hide Behind Them Anymore

“I need to lose weight first.”
Babe. No, you don’t. I’ve photographed women at every size — the ones who walk away glowing are the ones who own it, not the ones who hit a magic number on the scale. Posing, lighting, and angles are literally my job. You bring your body, I’ll show you how to light up the camera.

“It’s too expensive.”
I get it — luxury photography is an investment. But here’s the thing… I have payment plans so you don’t have to wait years to feel this damn good. Time is the only thing you can’t get back, and you’ll never regret having these photos — but you might regret waiting for “the right time.” You know there is never a “right” time.

“I need to get a tan first.”
Your natural skin? Gorgeous. Editing? Makes it pop even more. Spray tans can actually cause weird blotchy colors in photos (yes, I said it). You do not need to change your skin tone for this.

“I don’t look like the women you photograph.”
Every woman you’ve seen on my page once thought the exact same thing. The difference? They booked the damn shoot and got to see that version of themselves. You have no idea how good you look until you’re in front of my lens. You know I’m right.

“I’m too shy.”
Good. That means your experience is going to be even more powerful. Almost every client I have walks in nervous — we crank the music, we laugh, I walk you through every single pose. You’ll forget about the camera real quick.

“I wouldn’t know what to do.”
Perfect. That means you’re a blank canvas. I’ll literally tell you where to put your hands, your eyes, your hair — down to your fingertips. You just show up and let me work. I got you babe!

Here’s the Real Problem… And It’s Been Following You for Years

The truth? Your excuses are just symptoms. The disease is the world you grew up in.

From the time we were little girls, we’ve been spoon-fed rules that were never meant to help us.

  • “Good girls don’t show too much skin.”

  • “Don’t be too loud, too confident, too sexy.”

  • “Don’t waste money on yourself — it’s selfish.”

  • “If you’re going to be seen, make sure you look perfect first.”

You’ve been raised in a system that told you over and over again that you are too much in all the wrong ways and not enough in all the ways that matter.

And after years of hearing it? You start believing it.
So when an opportunity comes up to do something bold, fun, or unapologetically for you

Your brain goes:

  • “I need to lose weight first.”

  • “I don’t look like the women you shoot.”

  • “I can’t spend that much money on me.”

  • “I wouldn’t know what to do.”

But those aren’t the truth.
They’re just the bars of a cage you didn’t even realize you’ve been sitting in.

How to Start Tearing the Cage Apart

I want you to try this right now — not later, not “when I have time,” but now.
Because this is how you start taking your story back.

  1. Grab a piece of paper.

  2. Write down the first negative thought you remember about:

    • Your body

    • Your sexuality

    • Your right to spend money on yourself

    • The kind of woman you’re “allowed” to be

  3. Don’t sugarcoat it. Don’t try to make it “pretty.” Write it exactly how you’ve thought it.

  4. Now? Rip it to shreds. Tear it up until it’s nothing but scraps. Burn it in the sink if you can. Watch it disintegrate.

And when it’s gone, say this out loud:

“I’m done living by rules I never agreed to.”

“I am allowed to take up space exactly as I am.”

“I choose myself, fully and unapologetically.”

“This is my story — and I’m rewriting it.”

Why This Matters Before You Ever Step in My Studio

When you book with me, we don’t just start with outfits and poses.
We start with this.
We start with breaking down all the bullsh*t you’ve been told about what you can and can’t do, how you can and can’t look, and what parts of yourself you’re “allowed” to show.

Because if you don’t deal with that, no amount of lighting or lingerie is going to make you feel different.

But once we rip that bandaid off?
You stop looking for reasons why you can’t.
You start finding reasons why you can.

The Dare

Stop waiting for the perfect timing. Stop asking for permission. Stop living someone else’s watered-down version of your life.

Start over.
Do what you want.
This is your story — and no one else gets to hold the pen.
